Expect lots of local talent at Artisanal LA Fall 2015 Show, coming up October 10-11 at downtown's The Reef creative habitat. Workshops, cooking demos, urban farming info, kitchen wares, coffees, panels, speakers, authors and of course plenty of foods to taste, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free selections.
The Sauce is pleased to find that several Valley-based food vendors will be showing the flag at this year's fest: Just Jan's Jams of Calabasas, Mallow & Hop craft candies (available at Cheesemongers of Sherman Oaks), Van Nuys-based Marco Paolo Chocolates and Teaonic, and Olimila Gourmet Emporium. Olimila moved out of its Studio City shop this summer, but you can still find its so-good-you-could-drink-it olive oil and other products at farmers markets in Woodland Hills and Calabasas, among others.
Mallow & Hop's many marshmallow flavors include passion fruit, cherry bear, key lime pie and chocolate chip. Sweet!
Another foodie attraction: Artisanal adds its first Artisan Dinner on Friday, October 9, 6 to 9 p.m., with local artisan ingredients prepared by a local guest chef. Tickets are $150 per person (space is limited, tickets capped at 150 people). For more information visit artisanalla.com.
