Valentine’s Day is all about couples, right? But for singles, February 14 can be one very looong 24 hours. Well, The Sauce is glad to hear that Studio City’s Bellwether restaurant is doing something about it: This Valentine’s Day—that’s Sunday—the Bellwether hosts Singles Awareness Day.

Or perhaps you could call it Cocktail Awareness Day: From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., pop into the Bellwether and single-mingle over specially-priced Valentine's drinks including Mama Betty’s Bloody Marys (house-infused habanero vodka, house Bloody Mary mix and a bacon-salt rim garnished with a mini-BLT, $8) or a mimosa with prosecco and fresh-squeezed orange juice ($5).
How you and your new friend(s) spend the rest of the day is up to you—but the optimistic Bellwether also will be serving a steak and Bordeaux dinner for two that evening.
And whether you are single or with a significant other, there are a lot of Valentine’s specials going on in the neighborhood. This list represents just a few: Sherman Oaks' Il Tiramisu is offering a lovely, three-course Italian dinner for $60 (all wines half-price). Calabasas’ elegant Saddle Peak Lodge has four courses for $125. Jeannine’s Gourmet Food Hall in Westlake Village offers unlimited brunch-time mimosas, two for $18. And Burbank’s Tony’s Darts Away believes nothing goes together better than cupcakes and craft beer: The bar offers the unique pairing of My Bloody Valentine from Alesmith Brewing Company and red velvet cupcakes.
