Attention cheese, charcuterie and specialty food lovers: Here are two events not to miss!
This Sunday: “Meet the Makers” at Cheesemongers Sherman Oaks
Stop by Cheesemongers of Sherman Oaks this Sunday, June 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a special open house event. The newly opened artisan cheese and charcuterie shop will offer a table full of their small-production cheeses and meats to sample, as well as an opportunity to meet and chat with some of the local food artisans whose products are carried in the shop.
Producers in attendance include: Art of Caramel (popcorn with innovative flavors such as Kentucky Bourbon Black Pepper and Mayan Chili Chocolate; Bertha Mae’s Brownie Company; The Co-Ops Local Honey–a backyard-based beekeeping co-op; Mascaro Family Foods (pasta sauce); Newcomb’s Atomic Hot Sauce; Preservation (a pickling company out of Sacramento); Semolina Artisanal Pasta (pasta maker); Tagaras (imported Greek products); and Three Jerks ( beef jerky makers who use filet mignon).

Friday and Saturday: Epicure Imports Warehouse Sale
If you covet good food from Italy and France, check out the warehouse sale at Epicure Imports this weekend in Noho. Hours: Friday, June 12, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, June 13, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Come hungry, as there are sample items such as cheese, sausage and chocolate to taste. Bring your own reusable bags. If you are driving a distance, ice packs are helpful as well.
