The Ultimate Facial
When Minnie Driver was asked to be in People’s annual issue of women wearing no makeup, she made sure facialist Angela Caglia was available. “I told Minnie, ‘Of course I’ll give you a facial before the shoot!’” Angela laughs.
Chances are the actress got the signature “Bel Air Facial,” aimed at lifting and firming. The treatment includes an oxygen infusion with stem cell serums and LED light therapy. “LED therapy started with NASA. They’d give LED lights to the astronauts so if they got a cut they could heal quickly,” explains Angela.
After spending several years at Ole Henriksen in Beverly Hills, Angela opened up shop at the Beverly Glen Center last year. She also kicked o her own eponymous skin care line which is ph balanced, organic, and free of parabens, gluten, sulfates, dyes and artificial fragrance.
All the products have innovative twists. Lavender cleansing water has “micelles—tiny oil molecules suspended in soft water that attract makeup and dirt and oil without depleting moisture,” says Angela. A “sou é” moisturizer contains goat’s milk, known for its anti-inflammatory and brightening properties. The vitamin C serum has antioxidants, including meadowfoam seed and CoQ10—both work to help defend skin against free radicals.

Spa it with Kids
Anyone with little ones knows how hard it is to carve out time for yourself. Heck, just getting out the door can be a challenge on some days.
Esthetician Trina Renea says that is precisely why she opened Spa Le La this past spring in Tujunga Village. “As parents, we’re always caring for others. Sometimes you need to care for yourself. Why not have a spa where you don’t have to hire a babysitter or feel guilty as a working parent about leaving your child on a Saturday?” Trina explains.
Spa Le La offers complimentary on-site childcare (treatment prices are competitive) and a full menu of services. There is also a deep tub to soak in silence, a state-of-the-art infrared sauna for eliminating toxins and luxurious beds for those who long for—yes, even dream of—an uninterrupted nap.
The soothing scent of sandalwood candles immediately causes one to downshift upon arrival. At check-in, parents are given a vibrating buzzer in case they are really needed. Then they’re served a complimentary herbal tea or glass of wine and shuttled down a quiet hallway to receive treatments. Kids are settled into a soundproof playroom, overseen by CPR-certified child- care professionals.
Added bonus: Afterwards, with your “om” in full swing, take your child next door to Sweet Rose Creamery to rebond over a cone.
