It’s no secret that we love The Front Yard, site of Ventura Blvd magazine’s Summer Food Issue launch party in July. People constantly seem to call the place "The Front Porch"—incorrect but understandable for a location with plentiful outdoor seating to watch the world go by, kind of like those neighborhood front porches of yesteryear (but with LA traffic).
And now The Front Yard offers a new opportunity to drop by and meet your neighbors: The restaurant has just launched social hour, 4 to 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to closing daily. You’ll find $7 wines by the glass, $4 beers, $6 cocktails and well drinks, and $4 to $8 bites of Executive Chef Chris Turano’s creations including tuna tartare tacos, smoked Beeler’s pork quesadillas, and fig and prosciutto flatbread.

(A note from The Sauce—if you happen to be staying for dinner, you must try The Front Yard’s linguini with Dungeness crab, served with fava bean, aji amarillo and lemon. Get an outdoor table because it will be less embarrassing when you dance for joy.)

Food is pretty darn good, too.
