In case you missed our recent Saucey Facebook posts (seriously, keep up by checking out OurVenturaBlvd FB page between blogs), two popular restaurants have just opened new franchises in our neighborhood: Silver Lake’s Hyperion Public opened a new location Monday in Studio City in the Ventura Boulevard space formerly occupied by The King’s Head. Farther west, newbie 118 Degrees—a raw vegan spot first established (now closed) in Costa Mesa—opened its doors in Tarzana on the same day.
In the excitement, don’t forget another newcomer: Flavor of India, family-owned since 1998 with locations in Burbank and West Hollywood, had its grand opening Tuesday in Studio City. Brothers Darshan and Tarsem Singh run the show. Darshan is co-owner and also executive chef. They say they are committed to offering “the latest regional developments in Indian cuisine” and add that Darshan’s tastes run toward spicy dishes.
Grab a menu out front (13 varieties of tandoori bread!) to find grand opening specials including $5 off delivery or pickup.
