Paradise was a big topic of conversation in ’80s pop songs, whether it was David Lee Roth’s “Just Like Paradise,” Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise” or Footloose theme “Almost Paradise.” Now, paradise has arrived in Sherman Oaks. Well, Paradis.
Paradis is a Danish company that produces creamy ice cream with distinct flavors. They make the ice cream in San Fernando and deliver bins daily to the Sherman Oaks shop. Owner Samer Maatouk sells five flavors—chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, pistachio and Oreo—plus a rotating roster that could include banana sundae, cherry chocolate chip or coconut. Waffle cones are also available.
Samer shares that he has franchised two branches of the ice cream company, with his next outpost scheduled to open in Calabasas. Paradis also has a full coffee program and sells a rarely seen Danish confection called Flødeboller—chocolate-coated marshmallow treats. How’s that for paradise?
