O’Malley Painting and Decorating is a licensed and insured, full-service interior and exterior design and painting company that specializes in architectural and historical preservation, interior and exterior painting, faux finishes, cabinet and furniture refinishing, acoustic/popcorn ceiling removal, water and fire damage repair, and wood and lacquer finishes for residential and commercial properties. Owner Joe O’Malley has provided more than 30 years of professional service, earning a reputation for providing excellent quality service and results, all with a very personal touch. Joe is highly experienced in all aspects of painting, faux finishes and wood refinishing; he has worked in some of the finest homes in America as a master journeyman, earning mechanic and expert brushman ratings. He has additional training in historical preservation and renovation, restoration of wood and windows, and as a custom color specialist.

“I enjoy a true feeling of accomplishment when touring the finished project with clients and realizing that I have saved some real architectural gems, while updating their property and exceeding all expectations.”

What is the latest trends in your field?

“The biggest shift I’ve seen in recent years is the green movement, and my industry has made huge strides in developing sustainable, low- and zero-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paints and materials for better air quality, breathing concerns and allergic reactions.”

Any tips you can give residents to make their homes look better?

“Expert painting and refinishing gives one of the highest returns on any investment in home improvement. A new study by American Express shows that 70% of American homeowners are planning home upgrades this year, with painting being the most popular home improvement.”

How do you give back to your community?

“I feel strongly about giving back to the community in which I live and work. I do so by providing pro bono work for people and nonprofits, and I am always open to new opportunities to lend my expertise.”
