Let's face it: If you've ever made a Passover seder, you know it's a lot of work. Here are some ideas to make the load easier—with one big precaution: These are are done "kosher-style" and not "kosher-for-Passover."
DINE-IN
The Bistro Garden in Studio City is preparing a special four-course dinner on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4. Start with matzo ball soup followed by house-cured gravlax with dill sauce. For the main course, choose braised beef brisket with potato pancakes and assorted vegetables; chicken schnitzel with roasted potatoes and assorted vegetables; or grilled Atlantic salmon with grenobloise sauce with roasted potatoes and assorted vegetables. Complete the meal with crème brûlée or mixed berries with assorted sorbet. $57 per person (tax, beverage, gratuity excluded).
Valley Inn in Sherman Oaks is serving a four-course dinner Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 5, with choice of entree (grilled salmon, prime rib or oven-roasted chicken) with vegetables and either mashed or roasted potatoes. The meal starts with traditional gefilte fish followed by a choice of matzo ball soup or garden salad. Dessert is fruit sorbet. $36.95 per person (tax, beverage, gratuity excluded).

Joan’s on Third: Choose à la carte from a list of hors d’ouevres and starters: garden vegetable basket with dips, deviled eggs, potato latkes and matzo ball soup. Entrees include beef brisket, herb roasted chicken, honey ginger salmon, various kugels, charoset, mashed potatoes, spring vegetables. The dessert selection includes: flourless chocolate cake (serves 8-10, $55); coconut macaroons ($2, dozen minimum); chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons ($2.25 each, dozen minimum); hazelnut meringue cake with apricot cream (serves 8, $56); crunchy pecan crisp ($.75, dozen minimum); and chocolate covered matzo ($1.50, six minimum). Order 48 hours in advance.
Gelson's: Full dinners for four run $74.99 to $84.99. For the main course, choose from a variety of chicken entrees: lemon herb, free-range, BBQ (with and without salt). Accompaniments include: matzo ball soup, chopped beef liver with egg, potato kugel, tzimmes, gefilte fish, charoset and macaroon cookies. Orders taken through April 11.
Sweet Butter Kitchen: Sweets are the thing here for Passover. Choices include: hazelnut mocha meringue cake (9”, $55), chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons ($2.25 each, dozen minimum); apricot almond torte ($34); matzo toffee ($6, 6-ounce bag). Desserts are available to order throughout Passover, but 48-hours notice advance order is needed.
