Pssst … we’ll let you in on a little decorating secret. There’s a spot in Van Nuys where all the pros go to get their trimmings—from elite Hollywood set decorators to Martha Stewart wanna-be’s.

Aldik Home’s specialty is blow-your-mind-realistic silk flowers, plants and artificial trees, but right before the holidays, the store undergoes a magical transformation. Half of it’s 24,000 square feet is turned into a virtual winter wonderland.

Customers can visit the indoor “Tree Lot” to browse among some 70 styles of artificial trees, with names like “Flocked Artic” and “Iced Aspen.” Buy them already decorated “to the nines” or do it yourself. 

You can really let your imagination run wild all the decor possibilities here; the space is jam-packed with acrylic, LED light figures (snowmen and reindeer are among the most popular), thousands of tree ornaments and garland galore. For Christmas connoisseurs, there are high-end items like hand-carved and painted DeBrekht Santas from Russia. 

Aldik Home is the place where set designers from TV shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno come to get their loot. Want to hone your decorating skills this year? The shop offers free holiday decorating Saturday classes through December 8.
