Chi Dynasty quietly left its Studio City location a few months ago, but now in its place is Shanghai Rose, which soft-opened last week. Dim sum is the twist here—and it is offered seven days a week, with cart service on Saturday only. There are more than 40 choices of dim sum, including buns, dumplings, balls and rolls filled with chicken, shrimp, pork and vegetables. Prices run $4 to $8 a dish. There is also a full menu of traditional dishes from Hong Kong and Shanghai. Owner Shanghai Rose Murphy is a seasoned restaurateur who has had her hand in opening various Chinese restaurants in Los Angeles and Monterey Park, including Green Village in Sherman Oaks. Free egg rolls and non-alcoholic beverages will be offered to new customers through the end of December.
