Studio City’s Daily Grill has served its last giant chicken pot pie. This local mainstay for taking a meeting over traditional fare and a stiff drink closed its doors on Sunday, January 3 after 23 years upstairs at the Laurel Promenade Shopping Center.
The Daily Grill's really big signature chicken pot pie
But it’s not really closing, just “changing concepts,” says manager Alissa Hwang. Alissa tells us that the space will be re-invented by Grill Concepts, Inc. (owner of the national Daily Grill and The Grill on the Alley chains) as a new restaurant called The Laurel Point. They’re in the process of gutting the place for a complete remodel for a tentative summer re-opening.
No word yet on the menu and whether it might include Daily Grill-style favorites such as Tuscan brick chicken and the light “Simply 600” low-cal menu—but if you go to the Daily Grill website you can still find its much-requested recipe for butternut squash soup on the “About Us” page.
