Westfield Topanga is the San Fernando Valley’s marquee mall, and even though shiny new sister shopping center The Village has been getting most of the buzz in the past year, new concepts continue to populate the original facility. Ice cream-fueled Churned Creamery started at California Oaks Plaza in Murrieta and Union Market at The District, Tustin, and launched at Westfield Topanga in January.
The company scored a prime location next to the mall’s double-decker carousel, which is constantly teeming with little kids—a good place to plant an ice cream shop. Churned Creamery purchased the GG Italy INSTA21 Continuous Churning Machine to produce fresh-churned ice cream in-house. Tubs contain churns that regularly rev. Croissants and black Tahitian vanilla cones are made in-house and both prove to be far more interesting ice cream vessels than cups.
Crocream is what Churned Creamery calls their croissant ice cream sandwich. Our crocream contained blood orange sorbet. Other choices include 100% California pistachio ice cream, whiskey & cream ice cream, and honeydew ice cream. Toppings draw from these categories: Candies, Nuts, Fruits, Sauces and Cereals & Cookies.
Churned Creamery also sells milkshakes, soda floats and affogatos.
