Camp Funtime

Camp Funtime is an accredited, traditional summer day camp that serves more than 600 campers ages 3 to 13 each summer. Located at the Westmark School and directed by Linda and Ali Stephenson, Camp Funtime offers kids 25+ activities at the beautiful, gated facility. The mission of the camp, which was founded in 1958, is to provide a well-rounded summer program for children, enabling them to learn new skills and experience personal growth in a safe and secure environment. 

What would you like kids and parents to know about your business?

“Our #1 goal is the growth and development of the camper. With our carefully handpicked staff, parents can feel assured that their child’s needs will be met for the summer and they will learn new skills as well as master old ones. Campers will engage in age-appropriate activities including art, science, gymnastics, karate, archery, nature, music, sports, dance, yoga, rock-wall climbing, drama and so much more. Weekly field trips enable our older campers to experience offsite adventures.”

What are the most important skills for people who want to work successfully with children?

“They first and foremost must have the desire and ability to work with children. At Camp Funtime we believe a strong counselor is someone who displays patience, compassion, creativity, flexibility, humor, leadership, all while being a positive role model for our campers.”

What does it take to be the best in the business?

“A program that cares about the well-being of its campers, years of experience, the knowledge and understanding of children, knowledgeable and experienced staff, and a clean and safe facility.”

What do kids love most about Camp Funtime?

“Campers return year after year for the Camp Funtime community. Whether they are excited to return to master the ‘blue’ side of the rock wall, reconnect with an old camp friend or see their favorite counselor from the year before, campers are sure to be counting down the days until next summer as soon as the current summer comes to an end.”

What’s most rewarding about your work?

“Watching our campers leave us at the end of the summer with new friendships, new skills and the love for camp. This lets us know that we have successfully accomplished our goal for the summer.”
