Built to Entertain

From the moment you walk into the Grand Hall (aka lobby) of the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel, with its statuesque fountain filled with LEGOs, you realize you’re in for a unique experience. The structure is constructed from over three million LEGO bricks and features 2,100 LEGO models, including a magical wizard and 130 sleeping mice. Another fun feature is a “secret slide” that goes from the second floor to the lobby.

The medieval decor extends to each of the 250 rooms, with themes like Knights and Dragons, Magic Wizards and Royal Princess. Parents will appreciate the fact that the kids’ sleeping area is separated from theirs by a full bath and is equipped with bunk beds and a built-in plasma TV.

While dining at Dragon’s Den restaurant, our girls enjoyed interactive games (Fairy Hide and Seek and Knights School) as well as the various LEGO characters roaming around throughout the meal. Later, they watched plays and musicals at the “Castle Courtyard Stage” and movies in an outdoor theater on the property.

A key feature of the Castle: you’re just steps from the park—particularly helpful for those with infants and toddlers. Taking a midday break for a nap or retrieving a bottle is a cinch.
