There’s much to be said for a wine bar that’s stumbling, er, walking distance from home. As of last week, Toluca Lake is now home to Spin The Bottle Wine Studio—the wine shop and tasting counter boasting imported and domestic, small production wines.
The concept is simple. Six wines on tap, plus additional bottles are available to sample at the 12-seat countertop. The set-up allows you to taste the wine before you purchase a whole bottle from its marketplace (genius, right?). Should you decide to treat the experience as a pre-dinner stop, you can supplement your wine with small plates such as pates, cheese and charcuterie.
Spin The Bottle Wine Studio is owned by Doug LaGambina (partner/investor of Hollywood’s Wood & Vine) with partner Scott Kay (principal at Vine Street Partners and partner at Wood & Vine). LaGambina has cultivated a list of artisanal, boutique wines including small production wines from Italy alongside French burgundies.
We’ll drink to that.
Spin The Bottle Wine Studio, 10139 1/2 Riverside Dr., Toluca Lake. (818) 509-7908.
