Tuccio’s is so much more than an Italian restaurant. The Woodland Hills establishment from Gina Shields, husband Damien and executive chef Gavin Humes features seasonal, market-driven ingredients prepared with panache and paired with many items made by hand.
Since opening at the base of Warner Center Towers late last year, the spot has become known for house-made pasta, live music on weekends and Sunday brunch. This month they added $1 oysters on Tuesdays nights from 5 to 9 p.m.
They plan to rotate oysters but favor West Coast varietals. During our visit they shucked bigger, brinier Kumiai oysters from Baja and smaller, sweeter Kumamoto from Washington. Each order comes in half-dozen increments on an ice bed with house-made cocktail sauce, mignonette and squeezable lemon. If you prefer more kick with your bivalves, grated horseradish is also available upon request.
To complement oysters, Gavin—who doubles as Tuccio’s wine director—is pouring Scharffenberger Brut sparkling wine, which costs $9 per glass or $30 per bottle.

Food is pretty darn good, too.
