Taping will be shut down, but the CBS Studio Center Back Lot will be anything but quiet on Sunday, May 21. Studio City Chamber of Commerce, CBS Studio Center, NBC Universal and the Television Motion Picture Car Club are hosting the first annual Flavor of LA, combining food, libations and cars.
According to Esther Walker, Studio City Chamber of Commerce executive director, “Our goal when we decided to produce Flavor of LA was to bring the melting pot that is the LA food scene into a carefully curated event that would showcase not only the best and most popular but also the lesser known and equally good.”
Participating restaurants from the Valley and beyond include Barrel & Ashes, The Bellwether, Local Peasant, Firefly, Frankland’s Crab & Co., Tender Greens, Laurel Point, Salt & Straw, The Front Yard, Franco on Melrose, The District By Hannah An, Jumpin’ Java, The Six, Tuning Fork, Blvd Kitchen, Comoncy, Coral Tree Cafe, Claudine Kitchen & Bakeshop, Lusy’s, Sushi Sazanami, Cocina Condesa, Granville Cafe, Pizza Rev, Artisan Cheese Gallery, Tiki No, Drink Houz, CREAM, Cake Bash Studio, Vegetable, Alfred Coffee, The Woodman and The Local Peasant.
The all-inclusive event also includes cars that have appeared in TV shows and movies, thanks to the Television Motion Picture Car Club. Guests 21+ can access a special area for craft beer, wine and cocktails. Tickets are available at Flavor of LA and cost $75 per person, including fees and free parking. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Food Forward. The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m.
