Now that Chef Phillip Frankland Lee (Gadarene Swine, Scratch Bar & Kitchen) has been eliminated from the reality competition TV show Top Chef (see what he has to say about it here), the Valley’s own celebri-chef is free for lunch.
Well, you might not actually get to nosh with the chef, but starting today (that’s Tuesday), Chef Phillip’s Scratch Bar will be open for lunch 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays. No reservations. The full beer and wine menu will be available, along with Scratch Bar’s signature carrot lemonade.
Sandwiches and salads range from $9 to $15. While the some of the choices might seem typical of many lunch menus—cheeseburger, grilled cheese and tomato, BLTA (A is for avocado)—take note that everything is house-made including the bread, cheeses, condiments and pickles.
There is only one dessert option: the $6 chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich. Now that’s what The Sauce calls a cookie.
