Ring in the New Year at Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak Los Angeles at the Americana at Brand in Glendale. This elegant steakhouse is offering a choice of two seatings (5 p.m. and 8 p.m.) that include a six-course meal and live jazz. The second seating also features a champagne toast and a balloon drop at midnight ($105 to $165 per person). North Hollywood's The Federal Bar has a party going on in the back lounge and the upstairs lounge, along with a four-course dinner menu and one alcoholic beverage or unlimited non-alcoholic drinks for $75 per person. The menu includes: pumpkin cream soup, Chilean sea bass, mushroom pate and blueberry peach cobbler. Chef Paul Shoemaker is offering a sophisticated, three-course winter truffle-tasting menu for $75 per person at Firefly in Studio City that includes: bone marrow ravioli, veal sweetbread fricassee, tuna tartare, diver scallops, Kobe NY steak and Maine lobster, black winter truffle risotto with Maine lobster, and black truffle cheesecake. 818-762-1833

Giardino in Westlake will offer a festive three-course Italian dinner courtesy of executive chef Francesco Pesce in a garden environment with truffle options and choices that include: burrata and beets, cuttlefish on polenta, oxtail ravioli, cannelloni pasta with chicken ragù, braised beef short ribs, grilled rack of lamb, panna cotta and warm chocolate fondue. $60 per person. 805-495-0053 

The Local Peasant in Woodland Hills and Sherman Oaks will be party central with music, hats, noise makers, Champagne, TV countdown and, of course, good food and drinks. A special four-course menu will be offered along with limited regular menu items. The prix-fixe will include: raw oysters, poached pear salad, ribeye, butter-poached lobster tail (plus $13) and a flight of four panna cotta for dessert. $48 per person; $90 per couple.
