If you’ve read the last two articles, you’ll notice there’s been a theme with this issue of The Ventura Blvd Sauce. Wrapping up our New Year’s edition, here are three of the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2014. We will gladly welcome them to the ‘hood.
LEMONADE (Mid-January Opening):
The Sauce Scoop: The cafe and marketplace that quickly swept Los Angeles and forever changed the fast-casual dining scene is projected to open in Studio City, come January.
Why We Care: Have you had their braised miso short ribs?
Location: 12401 Ventura Blvd., Studio City.
RYAN SWEENEY/BRANDON BRADFORD/ALEN AIVAZIAN PROJECT (Unknown Opening):
The Sauce Scoop: Beer bar powerhouse team, Ryan Sweeney, Brandon Bradford, and Alen Aivazian are moving in to the old Smiles Space in Sherman Oaks.
Why We Care: Collectively, these three dudes are the guys behind The Surly Goat, Little Bear, and The Blind Donkey. We’d like to bet that this new bar will have an animal-themed moniker as well.
Location: 13615 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks.
JOAN’S ON THIRD (Unknown Opening):
The Sauce Scoop: Valley residents have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the gourmet marketplace and lunch hotspot, which will open along Studio City’s Sunday Farmer’s Market corridor.
Why We Care: Because the whole thing has been so…mysterious…and because it’s Joan’s On Third!
Location: 12059 Ventura Pl., Studio City.
